I know you are trying to give benefit of the doubt saying it's hard to be a smaller streamer and navigate but, idk its pretty evident she speaks like that off stream if shes so willing to speak like that on stream. Any person streaming their gameplay should be aware of what they are saying. You literally dont know who you are playing against, so being rude to the wrong person can get you in a not good situation. Don't dish it out if u cant take the consequence

I’m bi and also have ADHD and Autism and I do use the f-slur and r-slurs around close friends who most of them also are lgbtq and/or neurodivergent, but I try not to do that on streams or in videos because although we are okay with those words I know a lot of people aren’t. I wouldn’t call a person the r-slur or the f-slur though. I did accidentally call a monster in a horror game a f-slur in stream in the heat of the moment, but I apologised right away. As you should.

I had something similar happen to me on DoTA 2 before, this woman kept trash talking our team and spamming GG you got beat by a girl, the irony being that I was duo queued with my female friend, was the last time we played DoTA together. Also you generally don't call other people the f slur unless you're friends with them. I will happily use that among my other gay and queer friends, but I'm not gonna use it in a CoD lobby.

As a gay person, we do call each other the f slur but only when we KNOW that we're both comfortable with it. if i know my friend isn't comfortable hearing the word then i won't say it around them.

Honestly, with so many CoD players saying that the game is supposed to be toxic, etc., I'm surpised the anti-internet-bullying folks haven't make a big deal about. Or maybe they have. You know, with so many older folks being anti-videogames, citing GTA and violent games, blaming them of rising trends of violence in children and young adults, wouldn't it make more sense to come after a series that has a long reputation for fostering a community where, often, adults and teenagers will harrass and bully children, teens, and other young adults? I mean, often telling them to "KYS;" calling them slurs for race, gender, and sexuality; or even harrassing them for something as simple as having a bad match. I'd be curious on the real impact this has on young gamers.

I don't think there's anything wrong with larger streamers holding smaller streamers accountable for their actions. They share a platform, they are practically co-workers, working for the same company. To some extent, the bad actions of one streamer affects the whole platform, and the impressions they foster have a wider impact. I would assume that Shroomie's behavior on stream would break ToS: If so, why not point it out?

IMO, the same internalized misogyny that results in pick mes is the same kind that results in boy moms. These women do not have to be sexually attracted to the men they are demeaning themselves and other women for, they just have to see those men as inherently more valuable, or worthy. We can see this when she says herself, "ooh, you have to be nice to me, even though this is a man's game." She has defined and internalized herself and all other female players as being in a space that isn't for them, where they should not belong, and thus, in her mind, becoming worthy of ridicule for not belonging. It's an extremely toxic way of thinking that requires a lot of deprogramming. Which is probably going to be hard to do past the instinctual lashing out that comes from so much public outrage, but I hope it happens eventually.
